Mumbai Dance Group V Unbeatable consists of 28 dancers aged 12-27. Many of the group live in slums. When asked to explain their life in Mumbai, they said: âMany of our group live in slums, which are very overcrowded, dirty and they do not have the necessary electricity. Often seven to ten people stay in the same room. It is very difficult to survive there. Every day we pray for a better life, but in the slums there are very few opportunities for us.
They also said that they let go of their tensions when they dance and that it also helps them to feel liberated. They were pretty nervous about performing at America’s Got Talent. “For the past two weeks, we haven’t been able to sleep. This opportunity can change our lives and everyone wants to be successful in giving back to their families.”
Prior to appearing on America’s Got Talent, V Unbeatable was part of Star Plus’s Dance Plus 4 reality show. The hip-hop dance group was mentored by Dharmesh Yelande and was among the top four finalists.
