The Igor Moiseyev Dance Ensemble captivates the audience at first sight [PHOTO]

The Igor Moiseyev Academic Folk Dance Ensemble, also known as GAANT, performed a wonderful show at the Heydar Aliyev Palace as part of the 15th Eurasian Economic Forum in Verona, reports Azernews.

It is not the first time that the ensemble performs in Baku and each time with great success. This year, the team celebrates its 85th anniversary.

The jubilee program included choreographic performances that reflect the culture, customs and traditions of the peoples of Russia, Belarus, Greece, Argentina, China, Mexico, Venezuela, Hungary and other countries.

The Azerbaijani folk dance Chobani amazed the spectators. Folk dancing has been part of the group’s repertoire since 1959.

In conclusion, the artistic director of the ensemble, People’s Artist of Russia Elena Shcherbakova expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome.

Additionally, guests of the event viewed a photo exhibit that captured the ensemble’s most spectacular performances in different countries.

The Maestro Igor Moiseyev State Folk Dance Ensemble was established in 1937 as the world’s first professional folk dance company. Its founder is an outstanding Russian ballet master and choreographer Igor Moiseyev.

The dance company’s repertoire includes around 300 international dances as well as dances, choreographic images, miniatures, suites and one-act ballets, such as the Polovtsian Dances, A Night on Bald Mountain, An Evening at the tavern, etc.
