Point Dance Ensemble in Amherst

Point Dance Ensemble will perform the original choreography of the company member at the Jensen Community Center in Amherst in January.

Tickets for the Saturday January 18 show are $ 12 for adults, $ 10 for seniors / students, 5 and under are free. Tickets are available at the door on the day of the 1 p.m. show.

The morning show features a variety of dance styles including contemporary, jazz, and modern. The members of the company explore the concepts of choreography and compose pieces ranging from solos to group pieces.

In addition to the show, a pastry sale will take place during the intermission with coffee and hot chocolate available.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of PDE. Founded in January 2000, PDE’s mission is to “inspire a lasting love and appreciation for dance by connecting our community to unique and inclusive programming through dance”.

Showcase choreographers and performers include Alana Culver, Emma Dimler, Lydia Baird, Ella Woyake, Aleyna Thoe, Ava Miller, Victoria Franz, Alida Richards, Marissa Stolt, Alexius Wanserski, Sydney Mattmiller, Olivia VanArk, Jaycee Glen, Emily Glodowski, Madelyn Rybarczyk, Jenna Stolt, Kennedy VanderLoop, Ahlyianna Palbrach, Greta Vollendof, Payton Vollendof, Brooklyn Zarnke, Allison Leach and Skyler Wachsmuth.
